PyroCore has submitted plans to relocate its R&D facility to a site in Avonmouth.

The waste-to-resource specialist recently secured permission to allow the assembly and calibration of a small-scale containerised pyrolysis plant.

This allows the company to assemble a facility for testing prior to it being sold to a client.

Following the sale, the plant will be disassembled and removed from the site before being replaced with another identical plant for testing prior to its own sale and removal.

Pyrocore is now seeking to rationalise its setup, including relocating its R&D pyrolysis equipment from a site at Haybridge, Somerset onto an Avonmouth plot.

The move would see the company consolidating its operations in Avonmouth.

"It is considered that this Site will be an appropriate location in which to situate the R&D equipment given that it has been established that Bristol City Council have deemed the provision of pyrolysis equipment to be acceptable on site, its location within an established industrial context and the absence of any sensitive receptors in the vicinity," said a planning statement.

"The proposed development is also compatible with surrounding industrial uses, which are predominant in this area."

The application is with Bristol City Council.
